Powel Crosley Wedding Photographer | Bev & John

For any Sarasota Photographer, Powel Crosley Wedding Photography is always a dream come true! And with a couple like Bev and John, I just couldn't seem to wake up! Bev and I probably had somewhere around 10 phone calls together before the wedding, discussing their vision, the perfect vendors, potential locations, and by the time their wedding day at the Powel Crosley Estate arrived, I knew I'd be able to tell their story like no other. Bev wanted the romance and beauty of a bay side estate, but with a guest list that leaned on the older side, they opted for the convenience of a reception at The Grove in Lakewood Ranch. Tropical, romantic, and classic down to every last detail, this wedding executed their vision and spoke of the depths of their love in every way. At the start of our time together they had been very nervous about being in front of the camera, but we came up with the perfect solution to help them feel at ease on their wedding day. An Engagement Session! When they decided to book an engagement session they realized very quickly what I tell most of my clients: an Engagement Session is a perfect way to get comfortable with being in front of the camera and to learn what to expect from your time with me as a photographer. They found themselves at ease with our engaging posing style almost immediately, and by the time wedding day arrived, they were truly looking forward to having their portraits taken, YES, even our handsome groom, John!

I arrived in time to join Bev and her mother as our beautiful bride got into her dress and prepared for her wedding day. She was feeling stressed, but I personally take it as my responsibility to help spot every way I can to help free my brides from stress so that they can take a deep breath and enjoy every moment of their day, and the pictures turn out all the better for it. Now when she looks back at her pictures she won't remember tension and anxiety, but that ear to ear grin!

Bev and John chose to have a private first look together before their wedding began. This is such a beautiful and romantic moment, shared together without all the prying eyes of your wedding guests and all the distractions and faces to look at when you're walking down the aisle, but it's also so much more! Having a first look is a great way to take control of your wedding day schedule, slow down your timeline, and not have to rush to make sure that you get all of the pictures that you've been dreaming of. With a large family joining them for their nuptials, the bride and groom wanted to take pictures with all of them BEFORE the wedding ceremony, this would give them more time for portraits after the ceremony, and allow them to enjoy the cocktail hour with their guests once they arrived at The Grove. And at a location as beautiful and magical as Sarasota's Powel Crosley Estate for their wedding, this allowed them to have extra time to take advantage of all the stunning locations inside of the beautiful Estate for their portraits.

Their wedding ceremony was just lovely, with a beautiful wedding arch from Chaos Coordinating by Caitlyn, live musicians, and a beautiful view spanning over Sarasota Bay, creating all the magic that they'd been dreaming of for months. And with Bonnie Sanchez of Weddings by Bonnie officiating their ceremony, it was as heartfelt, touching, and personal as any wedding ceremony could be. Afterwards we took more portraits around the Powel Crosley Estate's extensive grounds, taking advantage of the architecture, gardens, and beautiful lighting. When your wedding venue is this vast and beautiful we always take the time to discuss various locations and establish your top priorities for portraits, and we were able to capture all the spots they'd been dreaming of and so much more!

The reception at The Grove was simple yet lovely, allowing the elegance of the room and the beauty of the couple to be the stars of the evening. This couple opted to focus their photography on the highlights at the beginning of the evening, their choreographed first dance, toasts, the cake cutting, and mingling with their guest, and to let the memories for the rest of the evening be for their hearts alone, rather than the camera. The entire day lived up perfectly to the vision they'd been creating for months, and I know they'll look back on the love that fills these memories of their Powel Crosley Wedding Photography for a lifetime to come!
